The Sachse Historical Society hosted a reunion of the Sachse Volunteer Fire Department and Ladies' Auxiliary on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Sachse Historical Museum.

Restoration of the 1948 Ahrens Fox fire engine is underway. Restoration levels range from “preservation and prevention of further deterioration,” to “display-only” condition, and finally to full operating condition. The Sachse Historical Society has completed Phases One and Two and is planning to achieve Phase Three as funding becomes available.
